The Surge at Mount Sinai takes viewers into one of the largest healthcare systems in the country during one of the most unprecedented global pandemics, COVID-19. It follows three healthcare workers, two intimate patient journeys and experts from across the hospital during the spring of 2020, giving intimate access to frontline workers and what it was like as New York City became the global epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak and experiencing more than 350 deaths per day. THE SURGE tells the story of one of the greatest challenges our generation has ever faced, and all of the different heroes who put their lives on the line to save many others. Winner of the 2022 Webby’s for Best Branded Documentary.
